Rental car with cross-border option to the Republic of Moldova

We offer the option to rent a car in Iasi and cross the border into the Republic of Moldova (the fee is 80 EUR per rental).

Frequently Asked Questions

What documents do I need to rent a car?

You need an ID card/passport and a category B driving licence. The minimum driver age is 25 and you must have at least 2 years of driving experience.

Can I pick up / return a car at night, depending on flight times?

We offer the possibility to rent cars at any time, 24/7, at Iasi, Suceava or Bacau airports, with no hidden fees. The same rules apply for returning the car. Ideally, when you make an online reservation, please fill in your flight details in the last field so we can adjust in case of a flight delay.

Is there anything else to pay besides the amount shown in the booking confirmation?

No. You only pay extra at pick-up or return if you decide to extend the rental, add a second driver to the contract, travel to the Republic of Moldova, or drop the car at a different airport than the one where you picked it up. Child seats are offered free of charge, subject to availability.

What documents do I need to cross the border into the Republic of Moldova?

To leave the country with the rental car, you need a power of attorney, which you will receive when you pick up the car. This, together with the car registration certificate and its insurance (RCA), is required at the border.
